Practice Sequential Images

Today in class we practiced creating sequential images. I completed the task with my partner as she posed for the picture, we used a bubble wand and captured the movement of the bubbles with the wind. It may represent a common action, but it also shows the passing of time in a nostalgic way, like John  Everett Millais painting called Bubbles.

In the version made in class, we used a bubble wand, with a dark wall so the bubbles stand out more, I used my iPhone 13 on rich contrast and -100 on tone, I use these settings in all of the pictures, trying to capture the movement of the bubbles while they move with the wind.

Once the pictures were taken in about 30 minutes, I created a contact sheet, using a contact sheet generator found online, I added the device I use, the name of the piece, and the date it was created so it could appear at the bottom of the sheet, afterward, I downloaded it as png and share it in here.

Once I had the originals I could choose six images to create a final piece, after selecting the images I used Pixlr E to create a canvas, I chose a black background because the blue and the pink of the clothing had a chance of stand out more with darker colors like the gray wall behind, and the bubbles could stand more due to this contrast. I then selected each image and copy paste them to the canvas, adjusted each to the order and position I wanted them to have and left a space for some text, created a text layer, and put my name, the title, and the year, all selected with the font CuprumFFU on size 109pts.

This is the final result

For it being my first time practicing sequential images, I consider it resulted in a good job, maybe next time I could work more with the light and the angles but so far is good.
