Welcome to my blog

 Welcome to my blog

Welcome to my blog. My name is Ana Maria Vargas. I was born and raised in Colombia. I am a student at DMUIC Leicester for Architecture in year zero. And my favorite thing to do is dring coffee. This blog will be an important part of my learning process. I want to study architecture because I'm interested in the sustainability and adaptation a space can offer and the multiple purposes it can provide.

I chose this movie because I have always liked how the setting and the different environments make you feel depending on multiple aspects that surround the space, as well. After all, it is based on one of my favorite books by Jane Austen  "one of the most delightful and heartwarming adaptations made from Austen or anybody else." (Ebert, 2005) stated by the film critic Roger Ebert.

To me, art is the way we transmit feelings, how we as humans express and experience, and film is not the exception. Architecture is an essential part of it "the inherent architecture of cinematic expression and the cinematographic essence of architectural experience"(Pallasmaa, 2007). It is, in fact, a complementary process between the arts a way of visual-based creation.

Even the creation of a space or environment that is yet unexisting represents more, an example is "In that sociopolitical scenario, Metropolis was the possibility of a dystopian future, not as distant from reality that might conjure from other German expressionist films." (Romullo Baratto, 2017) A distant society that can be represented in the present society by its architectural design or political state sends a message of a non-distant possibility to the audience.
