Today in class we were supose to have some initial ideas for our major proyect and the first ideas that whent trhu my maind were:

- Arches
Theme
Traditional colonial Colombian architecture (ecology, sustainability)
For this mayor project there are some architects that inspire me, like Giancarlo Mazzanti, Diana Wiesner,Simon Velez, and Felipe mesa.
I started developing the idea of what I wanted to create and why. For starters, I have always liked greenhouses and their sustainability impact. I thought it would go well with the idea of learning based on taking care of something, so I consider making a preschool desing based on its sustainability impact for children.
This is a building made for study and research purposes this involves different areas of studies adapted for other activities, "Due to the complexity of the architectural program (parking lots, gallery, classrooms, offices, library, restaurant) and the impact that seven levels of high-rise parking could generate a facade solution was chosen" (ArchDaily Colombia, 2010) this is a good example of an academic institution and how important is to plan a structure based in the necessities.
This building on the other hand is a library used in its majority for educational purposes "The man gets back to nature, the more he understands, the more he respects his context." (Landezine, 2013) The building is based on the connection between nature and the individual, and that is what I want to portray as well, the connection between something through knowledge, even though the architect is a landscape specialist, I will take inspiration from her and make it an indoor sustainability project.
Colombian architecture has a lot of inspiration from Spanish descendants from colonial times, this type of architecture has always fascinated me, how they use color and contrast it white so it only highlights certain areas is amusing to me. "The town's biggest attraction is its traditional bahareque architecture: a collection of one- and two-story buildings, mostly white but with doors and window frames adorned in brightly painted colors,"(Adriaan Alsema, 2014) I will take inspiration from this style to design my major project and maybe experience as well with other types of architecture but this will be my main subject.
