Concept Design

In this post, I will be explaining the design concept of my project, and what is the inspiration behind it, at the beginning of the project I wanted to create a coffee inspired by natural shapes in nature and found inspiration in sea shells, so the design changed from a coffee to a Life Boat Station.

To create a concept design I started to think about shells but forgot that the design has to also be related to the location and its unique characteristics so the first design that I made was not as I initially planned it could be, due to the fact that the design is not as practical as it should be, this design in particular is more

After analyzing the mistakes I had made with the previous design I made another one focusing on the research of the location I found a very interesting creature an animal called the Hermit Crab, I was intrigued by its form and the way they use wasted shells as they protection and home I first made a sketch and then the design Idea I had in mind using bricks for the base of the construction and woof for the middle and upper part.
After talking to my tutor I realized the complexity of my past designs including this one, so I chose to focus on a more linear and simple idea while taking into account my past designs and context of the area.
